How it happens

1

Free site assessment

We look at the space, room layout, ceiling type and power supply. We size the system and quote before you commit to anything.

2

You choose the system

We’ll recommend what fits your budget and the space. No upsell on capacity you don’t need.

3

Install day

Most split systems are done in half a day. Ducted systems take 1–2 days. We’re tidy — dust sheets down, mess cleaned up before we leave.

4

Commissioned and signed off

We test it, show you how to use it, and hand over the Certificate of Electrical Safety.

Signs your AC needs attention

  • Not cooling or heating — running but not doing the job
  • Making noise it didn’t used to make (grinding, rattling, squealing)
  • Water leaking from the indoor unit
  • Displaying an error code on the controller
  • Turning itself off shortly after starting
  • Freezing up — ice on the indoor unit or pipes
  • Smell when running (musty = mould, burning = electrical issue)
  • Tripping the circuit breaker when it starts

We service all brands and all ages. If you didn’t buy from us, we’ll still come out, diagnose it honestly, and tell you what it’ll cost before we touch anything.

Our repair process

1

Diagnosis

We fault-find before we quote. You’ll know what’s wrong and what it costs to fix before we do anything.

2

Written quote

Every repair is quoted in writing. No surprises on the invoice.

3

Repair or honest advice

If the repair doesn’t make sense relative to replacement cost, we’ll tell you. We don’t do work that isn’t worth doing.

4

Test and certify

We confirm it’s working correctly before we leave. Electrical faults get a Certificate of Electrical Safety.

What a maintenance service includes

  • Filter removal, wash and dry — clogged filters cost you 10–15% efficiency
  • Coil inspection and clean (indoor and outdoor)
  • Drain pan and drain line check and flush
  • Refrigerant pressure check (regas if needed, quoted separately)
  • Electrical connections inspection — terminals, capacitors, contactors
  • Fan blade and motor inspection
  • Full operational test across heating and cooling modes
  • Written condition report — we tell you if anything needs attention

How often? Once a year minimum in Brisbane. Twice a year if you’re running it heavily — particularly before summer and before winter.

Why regular servicing matters

A dirty AC works harder for the same output. That means higher power bills, more wear, and a shorter lifespan. A unit serviced annually typically lasts 15–20 years. One that isn’t, often fails at 8–10.

Blocked drain lines are the #1 cause of ceiling water damage from AC units in Brisbane. A maintenance visit catches this before it becomes a strata or insurance claim.

Many manufacturer warranties require evidence of annual servicing to remain valid. We provide a written service record you can keep on file.

What a deep clean involves

  • Full disassembly of indoor unit — front panel, filters, fan barrel, drain tray
  • High-pressure chemical wash of evaporator coil
  • Fan barrel removed and cleaned individually (this is the main mould source)
  • Drain tray and drain line fully flushed and treated
  • Outdoor unit coil and fins inspected and cleaned
  • All components reassembled, unit tested for correct operation
  • Takes 60–90 minutes per indoor head

A deep clean is different from a regular service. A standard service maintains the unit. A deep clean removes the mould, bacteria and debris that builds up in the fan barrel — the part you can’t reach with a vacuum and a cloth.

When you need a deep clean

Musty smell when the AC turns on

That smell is mould on the fan barrel. Running it circulates mould spores through your home. A deep clean removes it at the source.

More than 2 years since last clean

In Brisbane’s humidity, 12–18 months is the recommended cycle for heavily used units. Most people go longer.

Recently purchased a home

You don’t know how the previous owners maintained it. A deep clean gives you a clean baseline.

Allergy or asthma in the household

Mould and dust in the fan barrel recirculates every time the unit runs. A deep clean plus regular maintenance makes a measurable difference to air quality.

Choosing the right size
for Brisbane conditions.

Undersized means it never quite gets there. Oversized cycles on and off constantly, wearing itself out and not removing humidity properly. Brisbane needs accurate sizing more than most — our humidity makes the wrong choice obvious.

Small bedroom

2–2.5 kW

Up to ~20m² · standard bedroom · well-insulated

Large bedroom / study

2.5–3.5 kW

20–30m² · master bedroom · home office

Living / dining (open plan)

5–7 kW

30–50m² · kitchen included · high ceilings add capacity

Large open plan

7–10 kW

50–80m² · or consider multi-head · ducted for whole home

Brisbane factors that change the calculation: Western-facing rooms need 10–15% more capacity. High ceilings add ~10% per extra metre of height. Poor insulation (common in older QLD homes) can add 20–30%. We calculate this at the site assessment using your actual room — not a postcode average.

What our customers say.

★★★★★

“It was 38 degrees and our old unit had died. They came out same day, diagnosed it in 20 minutes, and had a new system in by 4pm. Didn’t try to upsell us on something we didn’t need.”

Supply-and-install for a standard residential split system in Brisbane typically ranges from $1,200–$2,200 depending on brand, capacity, and installation complexity (single-story with easy roof access is cheapest; multi-story or concrete walls add cost). Ducted systems start from around $5,000–$8,000 for a small home and scale up with the number of zones. We’ll give you a fixed price before we start — no hourly surprises.

We install and service all major brands: Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Samsung, LG, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Actron, Haier, Gree, and others. We don’t have a brand exclusivity arrangement with any supplier, which means we’ll recommend what genuinely suits your space and budget — not what we happen to have in stock.

In Queensland, all AC installation work — including running the electrical circuit to the unit — must be performed by or supervised by a licensed electrician. Some AC companies use unqualified offsiders for the electrical portions. Our entire crew are licensed electricians who are also trained in AC work. That means the wiring, the switchboard connection, and the system commission are all done to licensed standard, with a Certificate of Electrical Safety issued for every job.

A standard single split system (one indoor head, one outdoor unit) takes 3–5 hours. Multi-head systems (one outdoor, 2–4 indoor heads) typically take a full day. Ducted systems are 1–2 days depending on the number of zones and ceiling access. We’ll give you a time estimate when we quote and confirm the morning of the job.

Usually not. Most unusual noises have a specific, diagnosable cause: rattling is often a loose panel or debris in the outdoor fan; squealing or grinding from the indoor unit is usually a failing fan motor bearing; bubbling or gurgling can indicate refrigerant issues or a partially blocked drain. We diagnose before we quote on anything. If it’s a simple fix, we’ll tell you. If repair cost exceeds replacement value, we’ll tell you that too.

Yes. We service and repair all brands and all ages, regardless of who installed them. We don’t require a service history or original documentation. If the unit is serviceable, we’ll service it.

Minimum annually. For heavily used units — running most of summer and winter — twice a year is better. The combination of Brisbane’s heat, humidity and airborne dust means filters block faster than in cooler climates, and blocked filters reduce efficiency and put strain on the compressor. An annual service costs far less than a compressor replacement.
